"Born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Mark Epstein originally pursued a career in ski racing and big mountain skiing before switching gears and joining the ski media. The reasons for his change in focus were many, but chief among them was the discovery of some latent artistic talent which he apparently discovered in college.

After studying studio art at the University of Colorado, he made his first modest foray into media: he was retained by the upstart: freeskiing magazine FREEZE to obtain and execute interviews with aging 80s rock, TV, and movie stars. He still considers the time he got Bret Michaels of Poison to admit that not all roses have thorns to be his career's crowning achievement. Over time, this minor position grew into more significant positions, including editor and managing editor.

Ultimately, Epstein found himself in the position of photo editor and internet director for FREEZE. Since that magazine's untimely demise, Epstein has been assisting some of the top names in action sports photography, utilizing his strong computer background to help those slightly less savvy than himself edit, color correct, and manage their growing digital libraries. In addition, his own photography career develops apace, and he's building a portfolio of published and commercial work as you read this.

Retain his services now or forever hold your peace."
